Smart Home becomes reality

The smart home concept has been one of the most awaited and discussed subject in the last decade. The concept of Automated homes has been on the center of many exhibitions due to the growing popular interest also driven by a number of science fictions movies. But several known problems due to system and networks complexity, fierce competition between vendors, multiple incompatible standards, as well as the high level of investment needed to implement the concept, have limited the penetration of home automation to homes to very few wealthy people, or quite ambitious hobbyists. Certainly not enough to develop a market or standards.

But finally a good news, as a range of flushing new products and components, cheaper and easier to install, are reaching the market thanks to the integration of both new technologies and design that are progressively substituting traditional controllers and somehow contributing to set new widespread industry standards… But the most important factor is the speed on which this step change is taking place.

Beside the more conventional uses, Smart phones and Tablets are the main “gadgets” allowing owners to keep control of their property remotely. By simply using an App. your can get remotely full control of heating, air conditioning, garden irrigation, and, moreover, unauthorized intrusions. These intelligent multipurpose devices are the real accelerators for the concept of smart home adoption.
